SCALES
We provide a free pet weighing service to help you manage your pet’s weight. Please ask for assistance if you need help using the scales. We know you like to have scales available for regular weighing in of pets and we encourage this good weight management process. Scales are available for this purpose and when necessary ask one of us to assist you.
Due to compliance with fire and safety regulations the scales were moved from the entry way |

PET GROOMING
As part of our, John and Margaret’s, renovation and veterinary centre improvement plan we will be introducing a pet grooming facility in the future.
We understand that grooming your pet may be difficult to do at times. We will soon be able to take care of your pet’s grooming for you by adding a professional groomer and the appropriate dog grooming facilities.
This will be a valuable service for us to offer to you is especially for those pet’s that are aging, suffering from some illness, or need additional veterinary attention while being groomed.
If things go to plan we hope to announce the opening of the facilities early next year.
HOUSE VISITS
We currently do provide house visit service for pet’s being euthanised. This is upon request should a client prefer to be at home. Alternatively, Polden Hills Veterinary Centre provides a uniquely designed and special room for you to say good-bye to your pet. Please see Euthanasia section for more information.
Our future plan includes expanding the house visit services to include regular veterinary calls.
REFERRALS TO VETERINARY SPECIALISTS
The majority of your pet’s general health needs will be met at our veterinary centre; however, there are circumstances where a veterinary specialist may be required. Under these circumstances, we may direct you and your pet to a specialist who is a veterinary surgeon with advanced knowledge and experience in a particular area of veterinary medicine or surgery. In some cases, specialised equipment is required to perform procedures that are not routinely performed by general veterinary surgeons.
